The monthly online buildathon has seen more shipping than some of the world’s biggest ports and today we’re highlighting a few of this year’s winners: OwnSound and Linea Club.

At its core, the platform introduces Non-Fungible Sounds (NFS)—a revolutionary concept for music ownership. It’s not just about streaming or downloads. The process is straightforward, but the implications are game-changing:

1. Artists upload their music, turning each track into an NFS—a tokenized asset on the blockchain.

2. Fans can buy or rent these NFS tokens, gaining ownership or temporary access.

3. Royalties flow automatically to the artists, thanks to self-executing smart contracts.

4. Listeners can curate their own private playlists, secured with encryption for complete privacy.

5. Tracks can be traded on a secondary marketplace, ensuring artists earn from every resale.

What started as brainstorming sessions continued with rounds of ideation, designing, deploying and testing a system utilizing IPFS for storage, FHE for privacy, and Polygon for cost-efficient transactions. The platform launched on EDU Chain with real-world feedback from musicians helping to refine UX.

With features like timed voting (5 minutes per proposal) and strict membership caps (99 members per club), Linea Club ensures efficiency and security in its operations.
