Today, Linea sets a new baseline for onchain safety and strengthens its position as the trusted network for capital, institutions, builders and users by integrating the Phylax solution into the Linea Stack.

Phylax’s Credible Layer is a native security solution that goes beyond merely flagging attacks; it also prevents their execution. Linea Mainnet has now activated this feature and our partners will benefit from it. Euler, Malda, Denaria and Turtle Club are already using it.

This feature is available for all apps on Linea Mainnet and networks built on the Linea Stack to opt in to. Enterprises using the Linea Stack can choose to activate this level of native security based on their specific needs.

How it works

Hacks are usually detected when it’s too late – after they’ve already happened. The Credible Layer is a network extension that enables applications and networks to define security rules and prevents transactions from violating them.

Step 1: Defining Assertions - Developers write Assertions in Solidity that act like programmable security rules. These rules represent invariants – the fundamental economic and operational conditions of the protocol that should never be violated. For example, Assertions may ensure a pool total value never drops below a specific threshold unexpectedly, in order to prevent a rugpull.

Step 2: Network-level registration - Once these assertions are written and tested, they are registered directly onto the Phylax Credible Layer at the network level. Security becomes a native part of how the network processes transactions.

Step 3: Pre-transaction verification - Before any transaction is executed or included in a block, the network infrastructure evaluates it against all registered Assertions. If a transaction violates a rule, the infrastructure rejects the transaction immediately. The transaction never touches the blockchain state.

The benefits of a Credible Layer

Phylax provides an optional mechanism that allows users, developers and institutions to operate with a level of certainty that traditional audits and monitoring alone cannot provide.

Non-invasive security: It requires zero changes to the protocol smart contract code. Developers can implement these protections without the complexity of a contract modification or downtime.

Permanent rules: Once registered, these rules become a 24/7 part of the network verification logic and don’t rely on human intervention or manual pauses during an active exploit.

Infrastructure as a guard: By turning the network infrastructure into an enforcer, Phylax removes the need for external, third-party monitoring services that often act too late. The security is native to the network.

Transparency and compliance: All active assertions are public and auditable. This allows users and regulators to see exactly what rules are protecting the funds, making it much easier for institutional capital to meet compliance and risk-management standards.

Cost effective: The Credible Layer is native to the Linea Stack and offers a more accessible way for smaller or bootstrapped teams to secure their protocols without solely relying on audits or bounties to find potential bugs.

Building the future of onchain capital

As the world migrates onchain, Linea continues to build institutional-grade infrastructure to support it. This native solution provides the transparent, verifiable and non-custodial safeguards that institutions and DeFi users have been waiting for.

Whether you are an enterprise launching a private L2, an institution deploying massive capital or a builder launching the next big DeFi protocol, Linea ensures you have everything you need to launch and scale in a secure way.
